World War One: Australia in France
World War One footage published online to mark Anzac Day
Rare footage held by the Australian War Memorial of the 1916 battle of Pozieres can now be seen online at ASO (Australian screen online). The footage runs for about ten minutes and includes footage from Australian war correspondent Charles Bean and another segment assembled by Sir William Jury.
An estimated 23,000 Australian soldiers were killed or wounded during this battle.Australianscreen online
